Minutes of Meeting, October 8, 2001
Joyce
(Chili Mama) Cook called the meeting to order with a coyote howl. Joyce
then introduced the officers: Pat Armstrong, Vice President; Pat Mauch,
Secretary; Gene Sharp, Member at Large; CT Hancox, Membership Chairman; and Jan
Hancox, Treasurer. The Hancox were not in attendance due to illness.
Joyce then thanked the wagonmasters, Karen and Frank Ogden for a fun
rally. Lots of places to see and do and lots to eat! It was noted
that the McNeills attended Fun days and the Hunters the Fall Escapade as
representatives of Chili Chapter. Thirteen (13) rigs were in attendance at
Deming. The president announced that to date the Chili Chapher had sent
$1000 in donations to CARE. Dave Armstrong made a motion and Karen Ogden
seconded it to send a $100 donation. It was approved. The 2002
wagonmasters for spring and fall rallies were discussed; also representatives
for the Spring and Fall Escapades. There being no offers, it was tabled
until later. A joint rally, tentatively set for July 10-14, 2000, at
Larimer County Fairgrounds, Loveland, Colorado, was mentioned.
New members
introduced were Shirley and Ray Bellon, Debra and Rick Camp, and Rosalie and
Richard Gillett. The VCRs stated the membership at this date was
73,409. They gave $6.50 to the chapter as our share of sales at the
rally. The also stated that Escapee's werre now offering a golden age
membership which may be purchased by anyone over 72, and not traveling, for half
price ($25.00).
Election of
officers was held. Pat Armstrong was elected President, and Karen Ogden
Vice President. Joyce was given chili Jewelry by Karen, as a gift from the
chapter for a job well done. The meeting was adjorned. Following the
meeting we enjoyed an anniversary cake in honor of Fred and Joyce as this was
their anniversary.
